3-DAY TOUR - TRIVANDRUM/KANYAKUMARI/MADURAI

Day 01 (Trivandrum - Kanyakumari)

Depart from Trivandrum for a two hour drive to Kanyakumari popularly called as Land's End Enroute visit the very famous Padmanabhapuram Palace which was the former palace of the Maharaja of Travancore. This palace is quite a sight which will give you a insight into the life of the Maharajas of Travancore. After this visit proceed to Hotel Cape Residency for Check In. After lunch you will be taken to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial by ferry and after this you will proceed for a visit to the Kanyakumari Devi Temple and also Gandhi Memorial. After sun set proceed to Cape Residency for the overnight stay.

Day 02 (Kanyakumari - Madurai)

After Breakfast proceed to Madurai and check in at Hotel Pandyan

Madurai, the second largest city of Tamil Nadu, is an important cultural and commercial center. With a history going back to the 6th century BC, it was once the seat of Tamil learning and still the place where the Tamil language is spoken in its purest form. The old city was planned in the shape of a lotus with the Meenakshi temple, the town's main attraction, at the center. Madurai has long been a center of learning and pilgrimage.

After noon half-day city tour of Madurai visiting the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva. It is an outstanding example of Dravidian temple architecture, with towering Gopurams covered with stucco images of gods, goddesses and animals. The sanctuary is open only to Hindus. Also visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace, a gracious 17th century building in the Indo-Saracenic style famous for stuccowork on its domes and arches.

Evening witness the Procession/pooja ceremony at the temple.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 (Madurai - Trivandrum)

Depart after breakfast for the sightseeing of Cochin visiting the Jew Town and synagogue, the Dutch palace, St.Francis Church and watch the Chinese fishing nets at work. Later proceed for a Fish N' Chips lunch at Hotel Brunton Boat yard. Depart after lunch for Alleppey to board the cruise boat for a 3 hour cruise along canals and backwaters. Later proceed by car for Kovalam.
